About Us

The Chapel of Glory Ministries, also known as Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Calgary, is an offshoot of CSMC Surulere Sub-Headquarters Nigeria. This branch began on March 6, 2011, through divine directives, and since then, the Lord has been faithful in equipping His workers and building His vineyard.

As a body of Christ, we hold fast to the profession of our faith by preaching the word of God with love and preparing Christians from all nations, tribes, and languages for the second coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Matthew 28: 19-20)

Our History

The ministry’s first service was held on Sunday, March 6, 2011, in Olabiyi’s rented residence in the northwest quadrant of Calgary. Three people attended: Olayemi, his wife, and their first daughter. With the birth of their son, the number of attendees increased to four. During this period, we conducted all the church services. The church’s location changed when the Olabiyi family transitioned to a new home in the southeast quadrant of Calgary in 2013.

In January 2014, Alagba Gboyega D, now Dr. Gboyega D., a graduate student at the University of Calgary who had previously worked with Olayemi as a graduate teaching assistant, joined the fellowship. A week later, the Adenekan family joined our fellowship. Together, we continued to gather at Olabiyi’s residence, where warmth and hospitality defined our meetings.

That same year marked a turning point for the ministry as we collectively sought a place of worship to accommodate our growing congregations. We secured a space at the Acadia Recreation Center by God’s grace and favour. The ministry continued to flourish when, between 2014 and early 2015, we welcomed additional families, including the Fadipe family, Sis. Christiana O. and Sis. Titi O., enriching our community further. Until September 2018, we held services in the large meeting room and occasionally in the conference room. In October 2018, through a Rhema message, the church moved to Rose Hall.

Another noteworthy chapter in our history is the gracious support from the Adenekan family, who opened their living room and basement as makeshift venues for our church services and crossover events whenever the Acadia Recreation Center was unavailable. This generosity exemplifies the spirit of community and collaboration that has always underpinned our ministry.

The story would only be complete by acknowledging the involvement of Prophet G.O. Fakeye, of blessed memory. After praying for the Olabiyi on March 1, 2011, Baba G.O. Fakeye said we should submit the necessary information for the church’s registration to the appropriate authority. He was involved in naming the ministry, constantly checking on us, and instructing us on how to make the ministry global, even to the last minute of his stay on this side of eternity.

As we reflect on where we are today, we recognize that it is indeed the Lord’s doing, a testament to His marvellous work in our lives. To all the families connected with Calgary Seraph, may God’s abundant blessings continue to flow in our lives, guiding us as we grow in faith and community together.
