Leviticus 16:4 NLT
”He must put on his linen tunic and the linen undergarments worn next to his body. He must tie the linen sash around his waist and put the linen turban on his head. These are sacred garments, so he must bathe himself in water before he puts them on.“
‭‭
‭‭‭What is your dress code?
In the Old Testament, the Lord instructed Aaron to follow a specific dress code. Aaron’s attire was not just a matter of appearance but an essential aspect of the sacrificial rituals. If Aaron did not dress as commanded by God before entering the Tabernacle, it could result in his death.

The Lord used the dress code to symbolize the importance of approaching Him in holiness. Every garment worn by the Old Testament priests had unique symbolism, representing their selection for God’s work of atoning for sin. For instance, the turban, made of fine linen and adorned with a gold plate engraved with the words “Holy to the Lord,” symbolized the priest’s dedication to God. The robe, made of blue cloth with pomegranates and bells at the hem, was worn underneath the ephod and represented the priest’s obedience to God. The sash, made of fine linen, was tied around the waist and represented the priest’s righteousness.

Therefore, there is no need to recreate the dress code of the Old Testament priests, as their attire symbolized their role as mediators between God and the people of Israel. However, Jesus’s death and resurrection mediated not only for the entire world but also for the things in heaven (Colossians 1:20).

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the grace I have through Jesus’s finished work of salvation on the cross. I pray that I will always cherish it. I pray for this in the name of Jesus. Amen
