”This defilement is caused by his discharge, whether the discharge continues or stops. In either case the man is unclean.“
Look inward
The scripture cited teaches several lessons. First, it reveals that God did not cause defilement. God does not imbue deficiency into any man who experiences defilement; such a person should not look outside for the cause or attribute it to anyone other than himself. In other words, we play a huge role in the spiritual development of ourselves. Second, a single occurrence is enough to defile any man. This means that we should be careful not to let any impure thought or action enter our lives, as it can have a lasting impact on our souls and character.
In addition, not everything one does defiles, so we should not be quick to judge others and label them as defiled. Instead, we should focus on our actions and strive to live a pleasing life to God. Jesus taught us that what comes in does not defile a man, but what goes out of his life defiles him (Mark 7:20-23). But did you know that we have the power to control our actions and words and use this power to do what is right? We should be mindful of what we say and do, as it can have a lasting impact on those around us. Let us use our divine power to moderate what comes out of our lives and strive to be pleasing to God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help so that I will not engage in any activity that will defile and delist me from standing in Your presence. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
