Leviticus 14:52-53 NLT
”When the priest has purified the house in exactly this way, he will release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. Through this process, the priest will purify the house, and it will be ceremonially clean.“

Blessings follow obedience
There are different approaches to any task. However, if one desires to receive commendation or recognition for their work, it is essential to diligently and carefully follow the instructions. It’s worth noting that even the most experienced individuals are not immune to making mistakes. Perhaps that was why God emphasized how He wanted the exercise captured in the referenced scripture performed.

The Lord emphasized that the purification of the house that survived quarantine must be done “exactly” as He instructed. This would require the priest’s obedience and attention to detail. The Lord affirmed that the priest’s obedience would ensure the freedom of the live bird, which would be a blessing.

It’s important to understand that blessings often follow obedience. As such, we need to follow God’s instructions and guidance. When we do so, we can expect to receive blessings and rewards. For instance, when Peter obeyed Jesus’s instructions to cast his net on the other side of the boat, he caught more fish than he had ever caught in a single attempt. The blessings didn’t just end with Peter, but they also flowed to his fellow fishermen (Luke 5:1-11).

Therefore, let us always strive to obey God’s instructions and guidance. This will lead to divine blessings not only for ourselves but also for those around us.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your word says that obedience is better than sacrifice. Please help me be mindful of performing every task exactly Your way and not mine or that of others. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
