Leviticus 14:51 NLT
”He will take the cedar stick, the hyssop branch, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, and dip them into the blood of the slaughtered bird and into the fresh water. Then he will sprinkle the house seven times.“
A divine rest
The purification process for a house that survived the quarantine after mildew contamination is fascinating and has many symbolic meanings. Interestingly, this process was also used for anyone healed from a serious skin disease. The process involved using different items, each of which represented something.
For instance, the scarlet or red yarn symbolized judgment, while the hyssop branch symbolized relief. These two aspects of judgment and relief come from God alone, and the use of these items in the purification process is meant to signify the importance of relying on God in times of crisis.
One critical aspect of the purification process was the number of times the priest was required to sprinkle the house, which was seven times. This number was significant because it represented perfection or rest. The sprinkling was the final and symbolic step in the process, and it meant that no matter what life challenges we face, God will provide us with lasting rest and peace.
For those experiencing any difficulty in their lives, it is essential to remember that Jesus offers lasting rest. As stated in Matthew 11:28-30, this promise of love and peace is available to everyone who approaches Him. So, if you are struggling with anything, take heart and reach out to Jesus for the rest that only He can provide. Let us trust in God’s love and mercy and find comfort in knowing He is always with us, offering us strength and support.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your word says the Lord shall perfect everything concerning me. Please bring Your word to fruition in my life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
