Leviticus 14:46-47 NLT
”Those who enter the house during the period of quarantine will be ceremonially unclean until evening, and all who sleep or eat in the house must wash their clothing.“
Keep off
Before a house suspected of mildew attack is put under quarantine, the Lord instructed that the priest allow the owner or the resident to take their belongings. The Lord didn’t specify the timeline for the residents to pack out their belongings, which means the priest must give the resident sufficient time or, better still, must not pressure the resident.
Once the resident declares that they have packed their belongings out of the house under the attack of mildew, the priest will put the house under quarantine. The Lord expects the resident to pack out everything; if anything remains after that, it will be considered unimportant. However, if anyone chooses to return for the unimportant after the quarantine session has begun, such a person will become ceremonially unclean, meaning the affected cannot assemble with others or bring their sacrifice to God.
The scary thing is that whoever violates the instruction will be ceremonially unclean until evening. Although the timeframe could look minimal, being ceremonially unclean means there is no cover, and anything can happen during that period. Friends, we must not allow anything to tamper with our fellowship with God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me in every endeavour to avoid things that will deter me from Your presence. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
