”Other stones will be brought in to replace the ones that were removed, and the walls will be replastered.“
Other stones
As humans, we all take pride in owning things in good condition, and we always strive to keep them that way. Without a doubt, God desires that we rid our lives and everything of old things and replace them with new ones. In today’s scripture, the Lord instructed that other stones be used to replace those removed from the walls of a house under the attack of mildew.
Although the Lord did not specify the nature of the stones, one can agree that the Lord did not mean compromised stones. As such, the owner would ensure the replacement stones were of the highest standard. This would involve selecting freshly cut, washed, and treated stones to aid in the restoration of the building. Once the new stones are brought in, they must be carefully placed appropriately. This is a task that requires attention to detail and precision. Each stone must be used where it fits best so that the restored wall is solid and stable.
Friends, what kind of other stones are you? Is it the one that God will look for or bypass? Is it the one that is ready to work with others to cover any void? Such can only happen if we see ourselves as members of the same body and that it is our responsibility to work together to fill any gaps, whether they are visible or not. This means coming together as a community and supporting each other, even in adversity. By doing so, we can build a strong, resilient, and united body that can weather any storm.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to be ready for Your use at every point in my life. Please help me unite with my fellow brothers so that the Kingdom business will not suffer loss. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
