Leviticus 14:28 NLT
”The priest will then apply some of the oil in his palm over the blood from the guilt offering that is on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified.“

Don’t hold back
In today’s scripture reference, the Lord instructed the priest to apply olive oil to the person being purified. This task required diligence, and the Lord did not doubt that the priest would not hesitate. Friends, the Lord counts on you and trusts you to perform every task.

The oil was applied to the person’s right earlobe, thumb, and big toe using the priest’s hand. This simple gesture holds more profound meaning than it seems. When the person being purified was afflicted with a severe skin disease, they were isolated from the community and had no close contact with other people. It must have been a traumatic experience for them. They could not touch anyone, and no one could touch them without becoming ceremonially unclean or being at risk of contracting their disease. Therefore, the touch meant a lot to the person and symbolized that they were no longer alone or excluded.

Friends, let us not hold back on anything we need to do to show the love of Christ to the rejected and vulnerable. In every way possible, let us reach out to those suffering and show them they are not alone.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me never to hold back in every assignment to restore my neighbour and everyone who has erred to Your fold. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
