Leviticus 13:55 NLT
”Then the priest must examine the object again. If he finds that the contaminated area has not changed color after being washed, even if it did not spread, the object is defiled. It must be completely burned up, whether the contaminated spot is on the inside or outside.”
Change is necessary
The act of hearing God’s Word is a good start, but it is not enough in itself. What God truly desires from us is that we internalize His Word, taking it to heart and putting it into action. Then, we can experience change.
Now, what is the connection of the preceding to the referenced Scripture, which states that the priest was that if a contaminated area on clothing did not fade, despite washing it, the entire garment must be burned? Hearing God’s word is tantamount to washing with water; however, the hearer must be willing before the desired outcome can be realized.
Friend, the responsibility to change is yours; please use it wisely. Don’t be like a contaminated area that is adamant and would not allow effort to restore status to materialize. Instead, let the Word of Christ permeate your life and change you inside out.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I yield my life to You. Please let every word of Yours that I study have a permanent abode and also change me inside out. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
