Leviticus 13:37 NLT
”But if the color of the scabby sore does not change and black hair has grown on it, it has healed. The priest will then pronounce the person ceremonially clean.“
Break free from the cultural mindset.
The ways of God are beyond human comprehension and understanding. This is because what may seem trivial or insignificant to humans may hold great significance to God and vice versa. It is fascinating to note that in many cultures, the colour black and anything associated with it is often viewed as evil or repulsive, while white and anything associated with it is considered pure and good.
However, if you delve deeper into Leviticus 13, you’ll discover that the hair of an affected area could be white, yellow, or black. This is noteworthy because, based on human culture, one might assume that black hair would indicate evil or ceremonial uncleanness. Still, interestingly, the presence of black hair was enough to be considered ceremonially clean.
It’s essential to acknowledge that relying solely on cultural beliefs to understand God’s work can lead to confusion and chaos. Instead, we should trust and abide by God and His divine instructions. Only through His grace can we be saved and have a deeper understanding of His plan for us.
For instance, Peter almost missed the divine plan because he relied on cultural beliefs when the Lord asked him to eat certain foods. Therefore, it is wise to surrender our cultural beliefs and biases to God and let Him guide us through His perfect plan for our lives.
Prayer
Dear God, please help me break free from cultural mindsets and guide me according to Your will. May I always pray for your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
