Leviticus 13:28 NLT
”But if the affected area has not changed or spread on the skin and has faded, it is simply a swelling from the burn. The priest will then pronounce the person ceremonially clean, for it is only the scar from the burn.“
O Lord, heal me
The process of salvation encompasses various stages that start from reconciliation and end with adoption. In the previous verse, the Lord instructed that a priest examine a person with a skin issue under quarantine on the seventh day. However, it’s important to note that going through the motions or staying in the quarantine area for seven days alone was not enough. The Lord Himself needed to make a person clean, and without His intervention, it was impossible to achieve.
It’s worth recalling what the man with leprosy said to Jesus in Matthew 8, verse 2. The man said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” This statement highlights the belief in Jesus’s ability to heal and cleanse him, but it also shows the man’s recognition of Jesus’s authority.
Although the Lord did not forbid the affected person from using home remedies on the affected area, the root cause of the issue could only be dried up by God alone. It’s crucial to note that the Lord never instructed the priest to pray or apply anything on the affected skin area because only God can heal and make whole.
Therefore, it’s not just about going through the motions or staying in the quarantine area for seven days that brings about healing, but it’s about having faith in God’s power to heal and make one whole. Prophet Jeremiah said, “O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed,” emphasizing the trust in God’s ability to heal and make whole.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are the One who can end any unbecoming activity in my life. Please do it for the glory of Your name. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
