Leviticus 13:11 NLT
”it is a chronic skin disease, and the priest must pronounce the person ceremonially unclean. In such cases the person need not be quarantined, for it is obvious that the skin is defiled by the disease.“

The priest must pronounce…
Staples Inc. is a retail store that offers various stationery items, including a button that reads “That was easy” when pressed. Although this button may imply that everything is easy, it’s important to note that this isn’t always the case. For instance, when a priest declares someone unclean, it can be a challenging situation. The priest’s pronouncement can cause physical separation and emotional distance, which can be difficult for the affected individual and their family. It may even result in the person never seeing their loved ones again.

Despite the emotional weight of the situation, the Lord expects the priest to make such a call when necessary. The priest must be fair and impartial in their assessment, treating everyone equally regardless of social status. They should not use their announcement as a means of blackmailing anyone. The priest must uphold a high moral standard and ensure their pronouncement is based on objective criteria.

The lesson here is that even though the announcement may be emotionally challenging, the priest must still maintain a high standard of integrity and fairness. The priest must not lower their standard for anyone, regardless of social status. They must be upright in their assessment and pronouncement, ensuring their judgment is based on objective criteria. Like the priest, God expects you and me to be impartial and carry out our tasks without fear or favour.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I ask for Your help always to do Your will. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
