Leviticus 13:7 NLT
“But if the rash continues to spread after the person has been examined by the priest and has been pronounced clean, the infected person must return to be examined again.”
Personal responsibility
Today’s referenced scripture discusses what to do if a person declared ceremonially clean develops a rash again. According to the scripture, if such an event occurs, the affected person must return to the priest who made the initial declaration for further examination. In other words, the affected person must not seek another priest’s opinion.
Therefore, if something you have prayed for and received an answer to resurfaces, do not think that the Holy Spirit has departed from you, your church or brethren in your assembly. Note that the scripture does not require any spiritual gymnastics from the affected person, nor does it state that the person’s affliction resulted from sin. Similarly, the scripture does not need the affected person to return with a gift for the priest.
In a broader context, this instruction reminds us that we should always seek God’s guidance in every situation and never hesitate to return to Him as many times as we desire. Whenever we face a persistent situation, we must not take it to anyone other than God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, no one can help address my unbecoming situation except You. Please help me. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
