Leviticus 13:3 NLT
“The priest will examine the affected area of the skin. If the hair in the affected area has turned white and the problem appears to be more than skin-deep, it is a serious skin disease, and the priest who examines it must pronounce the person ceremonially unclean.”

In the interest of all
In the Old Testament, priests were not only responsible for ensuring that sacrifices were made correctly, but they also had many other duties. One of the most significant tasks was determining if anyone had a skin disease, as revealed in today’s referenced Scripture. This was a crucial responsibility, as skin diseases were highly contagious and could spread rapidly, causing widespread illness and death.

This was a challenging task, requiring a great deal of knowledge and expertise. The priests had to be able to distinguish between different types of skin diseases and determine which ones were contagious. They also had to ensure that they followed the correct procedures to prevent the spread of the infection.

It is worth noting that the oversight role of the priest would not have been possible if the concerned people refused to bring their health challenges for evaluation. Similarly, Orthodox physicians are not responsible for any pronouncement; they only report what they find.

Therefore, taking care of y(our) health and not hiding any health challenges is essential. Talk to your physician and pray to God for guidance. Following these instructions, we can stay healthy and enjoy the what the Lord has in store for us.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You know all my hidden and disclosed health challenges. Please heal me, and I will be healed, for You are the one I praise. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
