Leviticus 11:46 NLT
“These are the instructions regarding land animals, birds, marine creatures, and animals that scurry along the ground.”
It is up to you!
Today’s referenced Scripture reveals that God gave the people of Israel all the instructions regarding land animals, birds, marine creatures, and animals that scurry along the ground that the people of Israel were to follow on their journey to the promised land and even when they started living there.
As described in the Scripture, the promised land flowed with milk and honey. Yet, it was not a land exclusively inhabited by clean land animals, birds, and marine creatures. Instead, the land had both clean and unclean creatures, but with the instructions, the people of Israel could avoid being taken by surprise, provided they adhered to them.
It is crucial to note that having instructions is one thing, but following them is another thing entirely. As believers, we should remember the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in John 8:32, where He declares, “You will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” The Lord has done His part by giving us instructions to guide us in our daily lives, but it is up to us to do our part by following them.
In Deuteronomy 30:19, the people of Israel were told to choose life over death, which is a message that still resonates with us today. By adhering to God’s instructions, we can choose life and avoid the consequences of disobedience.
However, we should remember that God is not a taskmaster who goes around hounding people. Instead, He allows us to choose our course of action and make decisions that align with His word. Ultimately, it is up to us to decide whether to follow His instructions.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, You have done Your part by giving me instructions to live a life that gives glory to You and sending the Holy Spirit to remind me. Please, I pray that I will not be complacent to Your instructions. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
