Leviticus 11:44 NLT
“For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. So do not defile yourselves with any of these small animals that scurry along the ground.”
I am the Lord your God
The scripture referenced today is a powerful reminder that God’s love for His people is boundless and unwavering. Despite the repeated mistakes and disobedience of the people of Israel, God never turned His back on them. He remained a constant presence in their lives, guiding and nurturing them towards a better future.
The scripture urges us to reflect on our own past mistakes and shortcomings. Do we feel unworthy of God’s love and mercy? Do we believe that our past mistakes have made us irredeemable in God’s eyes? The truth is, just as God called Himself the Lord and God of the people of Israel, He views His relationship with us similarly. He loves us unconditionally, and His love is not based on our past actions or mistakes.
However, to maintain this relationship with God, we must make Him our Lord and God. This means we must listen to His voice and obey His commands. We must trust His wisdom and guidance and allow Him to lead us to righteousness. We must also acknowledge that our existence is solely because of God and must be grateful for His love and mercy.
Essentially, this scripture is a powerful testament to the enduring nature of God’s love. It reminds us that no matter what mistakes we may have made in the past, God will always be there to embrace us with open arms. All we need to do is trust in Him and allow Him to guide our lives.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You guide me and give me the strength not to do anything that could end my relationship. You are my Lord and God today, and I pray that You continue to guide me until Jesus’s return or call me home. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
