Leviticus 11:41 NLT
“All small animals that scurry along the ground are detestable, and you must never eat them.”
‭‭
Never eat them
During my time at an organization, I had a manager who looked at every issue from a high-level perspective, much like being 35,000 feet above sea level. This means that he looked at everything from a broad and distant point of view as if he were observing the world from afar. However, standing at such a height, very little is visible, and it’s hard to focus on the details.

On the other hand, God sees everything from heaven, which is infinitely higher than 35,000 feet above sea level (1 Kings 8:27; 2 Chronicles 2:5-6). He knows everything, even the things that are hidden from our sight. God knows the composition of everything because He created them. He knows those things that will not interfere with our lives and relationship with Him, and He also knows those things that we must steer clear of.

God cares for us and desires that we benefit entirely from His blessings. For instance, He instructed the Israelites not to eat any animals that scurry on the ground, not because He wanted to keep them for Himself, but because He wanted to keep them healthy and safe from harm. God’s instructions were meant to protect the Israelites from diseases and illnesses that could arise from eating unclean animals, which were common in the desert.

As followers of God, it is our responsibility to follow His instructions and live a life that is pleasing to Him. We must detest what He detests and never let our hunger drive us to consume forbidden things. We should always remember that God’s promises are too numerous to count, and it is our duty to obey His commands and avoid anything that might harm our physical, emotional, or spiritual well-being.

Prayer
Dear God, I am aware that mere words are not enough, and I need Your help to become a true embodiment of Your teachings. Please empower me with the Holy Spirit so I can always ‘walk the talk.’ In Jesus’s name, Amen.
