Leviticus 11:35 NLT
“Any object on which the carcass of such an animal falls will be defiled. If it is an oven or hearth, it must be destroyed, for it is defiled, and you must treat it accordingly.”
Treat it accordingly
One of the most critical instructions I received when I learned how to operate a car was to drive as if I were the only sane person on the road. This means I am responsible for ensuring that no reckless driver causes me harm.
Interestingly, today’s referenced Scripture conveys a similar message. It seems that the responsibility falls on the owner or the object to ensure that no unclean animal’s carcass falls on it (Romans 12:1).
As believers, we must guard ourselves against the works of the flesh. These things do not make us holy but rather unholy. They do not draw us closer to God but rather push us away from Him (Galatians 5:19-21).
Therefore, let us take our walk with the Lord seriously and not allow anything to come between us and Him (Micah 6:8; Romans 8:35).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me to remain diligent and watchful in my walk with You through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
