Leviticus 11:32 NLT
“If such an animal dies and falls on something, that object will be unclean. This is true whether the object is made of wood, cloth, leather, or burlap. Whatever its use, you must dip it in water, and it will remain defiled until evening. After that, it will be ceremonially clean and may be used again.”

Legacy
The story goes that a man once went for a job interview and did well. However, he was told that he would get the job not just because of his stellar performance during the interview but also because of his late father’s name.

It turned out that the applicant’s father had some exceptional and endearing qualities that his colleagues and acquaintances who worked with him couldn’t easily forget. These attributes left a lasting impression on the people who knew him, and they remembered him even after his death.

In today’s scripture, we learn about the impact of coming into contact with unclean animals even when they are no more. The verse states that if any of these unclean animals dies and falls on an object, the object, regardless of makeup, also becomes unclean. This shows that the animal’s uncleanliness doesn’t end with its death- it continues to affect anything that comes into contact with it.

Friends, Jesus leaves us with an excellent legacy, and that is why anyone who bears His mark transforms into a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own special possession. Will people benefit from being associated with us after we are gone, or will our identity cost them their relationship with our Heavenly Father? Therefore, it’s essential to be mindful of what we leave behind and strive to leave a positive legacy that will inspire and impact those around us for generations to come.

Prayer
Dear God, help me to build a legacy that will make You draw to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Amen.
