Leviticus 9:10 NLT
“Then he burned on the altar the fat, the kidneys, and the long lobe of the liver from the sin offering, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.”
Just as the Lord commanded
Today’s scripture reference highlights Aaron’s obedience and attention to detail in carrying out the sacrifice exactly as God commanded Moses. His unwavering commitment to following God’s instructions without adding his own wisdom or being swayed by his position as a Priest is highly commendable and worth emulating.
As individuals, how receptive are we to God’s commandments? Do we allow them to guide our actions and determine what we should and should not obey? It’s important to note that obedience to God strengthens our relationship with Him and portrays us as His children. Abraham earned the title of “friend of God,” not just for the sake of it, and David was a man after God’s own heart, not just because he defeated Goliath, but because he obeyed God. Therefore, we must also strive to obey Him.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I humbly pray that I may follow Your word fully so that my life may bring glory to Your name. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
