Leviticus 9:1 NLT
“After the ordination ceremony, on the eighth day, Moses called together Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel.”
‭‭
On the eighth day
The ordination of Aaron and his sons was a significant event marked with utmost reverence and dedication. Unlike in modern times, where there would likely be celebrations and various musicians performing, the ordination of Aaron and his sons was devoid of any such festivities. This was not because of a lack of resources but because Aaron and his sons understood that God’s work must be done according to His instructions alone.

As directed by God, Aaron and his sons spent the next seven days at the entrance of the Tabernacle, day and night, doing whatever the Lord commanded. During this time, there is no record in scripture that Moses interacted with them, as it would have been a distraction. The absence of Moses ensured that Aaron and his sons remained focused on the task at hand, which was crucial for the success of their ordination.

It is noteworthy that God did not interact with Moses during this time either. This was because if He had, it might have been misunderstood that God only wanted Moses. Therefore, it was essential to avoid any distractions that could lead to such misunderstandings. This highlights the importance of our involvement in other people’s faith journeys, which should not only be to encourage them but also ensure that we do not distract them in any way possible with actions such as gossip and backbiting. This way, we can help them focus on their walk with the Lord.

Prayer
Dear God, I humbly pray that I will not unintentionally divert anyone from their divine purpose. I ask this in Jesus’s name and with a sincere heart. Amen.
