Leviticus 8:33 NLT
“You must not leave the Tabernacle entrance for seven days, for that is when the ordination ceremony will be completed.”

Gladly serve anywhere
Today’s scripture provides specific directions for Aaron and his sons regarding the ordination of priests. It is important to note that these instructions were exclusive to Aaron and his sons and did not apply to the broader Israelite community. The successful implementation of these instructions was crucial to ensure the effectiveness of the ordination process. However, it is worth mentioning that following these guidelines may prove to be quite challenging for Aaron and his sons if they lack humility and complete obedience.

The instruction was that Aaron and his sons must serve as doorkeepers or greeters at the entrance of the Tabernacle for seven consecutive days. The question is why God would require them to remain at the entrance for such a prolonged period, day and night. Perhaps it was to teach them the importance of being prepared to take on any role, whether it is a revered one or not.

As a royal priesthood, we should approach our service to God with a similar mindset. It is essential to remember that we should always be ready to stand at the entrance of the Tabernacle, not to discourage others from entering, but to invite all to God’s kingdom warmly. It is critical to remember the words of Psalm 84:10, which emphasize the value of serving in any position in God’s house over being in a place of wickedness.

Therefore, it is crucial to strive to serve with humility and complete obedience, knowing that God’s grace enables us to carry out His will. By doing so, we can live up to our calling as members of the royal priesthood and become worthy ambassadors of God’s kingdom.

Prayer
Dear God, I pray that You will guide me in my journey with You. Please help me remain humble and willing to serve You in any capacity You call me to. As I serve, may I always remember to let my light shine brightly so that You will receive all the honour and glory. I ask this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
