Leviticus 8:26 NLT
“On top of these he placed a thin cake of bread made without yeast, a cake of bread mixed with olive oil, and a wafer spread with olive oil. All these were taken from the basket of bread made without yeast that was placed in the Lord’s presence.”
Done with excellence
The Lord instructed Moses to perform the ordination ceremony for Aaron and his sons, and he followed the directives precisely. Yet there were people whose engagements enabled Moses’s endeavours. Skilled artisans like Bezalel and Oholiab played a crucial role because they made the items used for the event.
These items were crafted to precise specifications, so Moses did not have to cherry-pick. The scripture mentions that a thin cake of bread made without yeast, a cake of bread made with olive oil, and a wafer spread with olive oil were all taken from the basket of bread made without yeast, suggesting there could have been more than one of each in the basket. Yet, any item in the basket was as good as the one that Moses randomly picked. The skilled artisans dedicated their time and effort to ensure that every item was crafted with great care and attention to detail, all in service to the Lord.
The ordination ceremony proceeded as planned, thanks to the artisans’ dedication and attention to detail. It’s essential to recognize that no task in service to God is insignificant, and one must give their best effort to ensure that every task assigned proceeds smoothly.
Prayer
Dear God, I ask for your help in performing any task that is assigned to me. May it be done with excellence so that any work depending on it can proceed as planned. I pray in Jesus’s name. Amen.
