Leviticus 6:30 NLT
“But the offering for sin may not be eaten if its blood was brought into the Tabernacle as an offering for purification in the Holy Place. It must be completely burned with fire.”
Holy through Jesus’s blood
Many scholars and theologians believe that the old testament serves as a foundation for the new testament, which is an expansion and explanation of the former. This is evident from the scriptural references that accurately predicted the salvation that the Son of God would bring about through His blood. In the Book of Hebrews, the author summarizes this comparison by stating that we have an altar that the priests in the Tabernacle do not have the right to eat from. In the old system, the high priest would offer animal blood as a sacrifice for sin in the Holy Place, and the animal’s bodies would be burned outside the camp. Similarly, Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make His people holy through His own blood. Through the blood of Jesus, we are sanctified before God, and we must follow the divine injunction of the author of Hebrews and offer a continual sacrifice of praise to God through Jesus, proclaiming our loyalty to His name.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your word says all my righteous deeds are like a filthy rag, and I believe. As I hold to the righteousness through the blood of Christ, please help me to do so until You return or call me home. In Jesus’s name, amen.
