Leviticus 6:28 NLT
“If a clay pot is used to boil the sacrificial meat, it must then be broken. If a bronze pot is used, it must be scoured and thoroughly rinsed with water.”
Not any other purposes
Notably, the clay pot used in a sacrifice belonged to the person offering it, not the priest. However, it’s essential to understand that breaking the clay was necessary according to God’s command and wasn’t meant to reduce the offeror’s wealth. Breaking the clay pot was required because it had, in the process of the offering, absorbed the meat’s juices, and became holy. Simply washing the clay pot does not change its trajectory; consequently, God commanded that it must be broken to prevent its use for any other purpose. The lesson we can learn from this is that once we dedicate our lives to Christ, the relationship must be exclusive to Him alone. As vessels of honour, we must avoid activities that would change our classification.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I give myself to You; please always accept my worship. In Jesus’s name, amen.
