Leviticus 5:1 NLT
“If you are called to testify about something you have seen or that you know about, it is sinful to refuse to testify, and you will be punished for your sin.”
‭‭
Testimony is necessary
Love is not love when it is only verbalized. Instead, one must express it for it to resonate. As followers of Christ, you and I are responsible for loving our neighbours as ourselves. Note that the scripture didn’t qualify the type of neighbour. Whether your neighbour is terrible or not, God instructs us to love them through our actions. In today’s referenced scripture, God demands that no one should be complacent about testifying about what they know or have seen. What you know or have seen could be the lifeline for another person’s life or reputation. Unlike ignorantly committed sin, anyone that willfully refused to testify in support or against a case based on what they knew or saw had no recourse for mercy. The Lord instructed that such people, regardless of their status, would be punished. Lastly, note that God exempts hearsay or speculations. Therefore, let us not, in a bid to testify, depend on hearsay or speculate about what we think must have happened because other people’s lives might not remain the same afterward.

Prayer
Dear Father, please help me to display love and not just verbalize it. Please, give me the courage to speak the truth at all times. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
