Leviticus 4:31 NLT
“Then he must remove all the goat’s fat, just as he does with the fat of the peace offering. He will burn the fat on the altar, and it will be a pleasing aroma to the Lord. Through this process, the priest will purify the people, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven.”
Through this process
The priests didn’t lobby to work for God. Yet God chose and instructed them to make people right with Him through animal sacrifices. For instance, today’s referenced scripture noted that these endeavours purified the people, made them right with the Lord, and imbued forgiveness. Imagine being saddled with such an ability to make things happen in the life of anyone. How would you utilize such an ability? If today’s priests were to have such power to aid forgiveness of sin, some of them would have turned it into a money-making venture. And others could ensure that only those with deep pockets benefit from such endeavours. It is also likely that the priest might even engage in needless industrial actions to show they have power. Friends, let us use the power God accords us selflessly.

Please help me, merciful Creator, not to be full of myself or my abilities. This I ask in Jesus’s name, amen.
