Leviticus 4:22 NLT
“If one of Israel’s leaders sins by violating one of the commands of the Lord his God but doesn’t realize it, he is still guilty.”

Still guilty
Every word in the scripture is notable. Thus, it was not a mistake that the word “if” began today’s referenced scripture instead of “when.” The implication is that God does not expect His children to engage in any wayward lifestyle. Therefore, we must not disappoint Him. Another insight in today’s referenced scripture is that it focused on the elders of Israel, suggesting that no one is above sin or immune against it. However, just as the error committed by the high priest and the entire house of Israel made them guilty, so was any sin ignorantly committed by any elder made him guilty. Being an elder does not exclude anyone from the consequences of sin; therefore, let’s walk on our salvation with fear and trembling.

Prayer
Eternal Rock of Ages, please guide me so I may continually walk my salvation with fear and trembling. In Jesus’s name, amen.
