Leviticus 4:7 NLT
“The priest will then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar for fragrant incense that stands in the Lord’s presence inside the Tabernacle. He will pour out the rest of the bull’s blood at the base of the altar for burnt offerings at the entrance of the Tabernacle.”
Not yet done
Aside from slaughtering the young bull with no defect and dipping his finger into the blood sprinkling seven times before the Lord, the high priest must put some of the blood on each of the altar’s four horns of incense. The location of which was inside the Tabernacle. According to Theologians, the high priest must begin from “the northeast horn, so to the northwest, then to the southwest, and last to the southeast.” After that, he must pour all the remaining blood of the young bull with no defect into the base of the altar of burnt offerings located at the entrance of the Tabernacle. One thing worth noting is that atonement for any accidental sin required both altars of incense and burnt offerings. If atoning for acts committed in ignorance required such detailed and lengthy procedures, one can only imagine how the process for atoning trespasses would be.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, that saved us from all sacrificial laws and has given us grace. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
