Leviticus 2:9 NLT
“The priest will take a representative portion of the grain offering and burn it on the altar. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.”
A representative portion
The likes of Samsung and Apple churn out hundreds of millions of output annually. The fact is that these companies cannot inspect all of them. Instead, they often review a sample, and the outcome is applied to the population. So the onus is on them to make everything right. Like the preceding, the onus was on the offeror to ensure everything was done right because they didn’t know which portion the priest would draw. If the representative sample is good, the rest would be good and vice versa. After removing the sample, God commanded that the priest burn the sample on the altar. The lesson is that what is worth doing is worth doing well. The offeror must surrender the best, while the priest must not burn the sample grain anywhere except on the altar of the burnt offering. Friends, God doesn’t force anyone to worship Him, but if you and I choose to do it, we must not be inattentive about it.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help so I will represent You well in all my endeavors. I don’t want to do anything not in line with, or outside, Your commands. In Jesus’s name, amen.
