Leviticus 2:1 NLT
“When you present grain as an offering to the Lord, the offering must consist of choice flour. You are to pour olive oil on it, sprinkle it with frankincense,”
‭‭
Shouldn’t it be a no-brainer?
In human relationships, there are many unwritten rules to foster cordial relationships. For instance, there is an unwritten rule that it is terrible to request a loan repayment anytime on a Monday. And since not everyone subscribes to such, it is often violated. With the children of Israel, God did not give room for diverse interpretations of what was right or wrong. He spelled everything out for them. Having lived in the land of Egypt, it is possible that they might not see anything wrong in offering substandard flour. But because God wanted their offerings to be accepted at all times, He thus instructed that the offeror only included choice flour in the grain offering. God’s attributes forbid Him from playing hanky-panky with His children. Hence, He couldn’t leave them to figure out how to do it. With the instructions, none of them could feign any ignorance. Friends, do you give God the best thanksgiving and praise, or is it only the afterthought you offer Him?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being specific on what You want us to do as Your children; please help me so I will not do the opposite; in Jesus’s name, amen.
