Leviticus 1:8 NLT
“They will arrange the pieces of the offering, including the head and fat, on the wood burning on the altar.”
They will arrange
A common theme about advertising in the West is that companies constantly endeavor to have a catchphrase that resonates with the audience. For instance, GEICO’s tagline is “it’s so easy; a caveman could do it. In the same vein, one could quip that what is the big deal about the arrangement of the pieces of the offering that only the priests must do it. Do not forget that the Israelites had stayed for quite some time in Egypt and had forgotten how their ancestors – Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, conducted burnt offerings. They also learned the ways of the Egyptians. Perhaps they might not see anything spectacular in the arrangement, which was why God instructed that the priests do it, and this showed that God trusted them to perform the task according to His expectations. Friends, God trusts you and me regarding the tasks given to us. Above all, let’s ensure that we do not outsource the responsibilities given to us.
Prayer
King of glory, may I never outsource any task You assigned me. In Jesus’s name, amen.
