Leviticus 1:3 NLT
“If the animal you present as a burnt offering is from the herd, it must be a male with no defects. Bring it to the entrance of the Tabernacle so you may be accepted by the Lord.”
His presence is not a dumping ground
A couple of months ago, I placed a sofa and a loveseat on Kijiji, hoping someone would take them for free. However, no one showed interest for 14 days. Consequently, I decided to take them to the Salvation Army, but they also declined them because of noticeable wear and tear. Eventually, I ended up tossing them into the landfill but not without paying a service fee. God does not want His presence to be the landfill where unwanted items are dumped. Friends, if you are moved to give Him anything, please give Him the best! For the Israelites, giving a defect-free animal for a burnt offering has no bearing on whether it would be acceptable. The offeror must take it to the entrance of the Tabernacle before it can be accepted by the Lord. Giving it at the entrance shows submission to God.
Prayer
King of glory, please help me so that my heart gives the best to You. In Jesus’s name, amen.
