Exodus 40:11 NLT
“Next anoint the washbasin and its stand to consecrate them.”
No ceremony
There is something about God’s instructions. They are simple, which means they are not complex or designed to make anyone fall. Regarding the consecration of the item in today’s referenced scripture, God did not impose strict conditions on Moses or anyone. Instead, God gave a lucid instruction, which Moses followed. Even the oil used did not go through any unusual process or ceremony. Moses didn’t add anything to the oil or take it to mount Sinai for several days before using it. The only thing the process required was for Moses to attend to it. How ceremonial are we when it comes to divine instructions? Please note that God is not interested in ceremonies; instead, He delights in obedience!
Prayer
Faithful Lord, You delight more in obedience than all ceremonial and religious activities. Please help me make it a duty to please You at all times. In Jesus’s name, amen.
