Exodus 39:6 NLT
“They mounted the two onyx stones in settings of gold filigree. The stones were engraved with the names of the tribes of Israel, just as a seal is engraved.”
Names of the tribes of Israel
Unlike the making of the garments, the making of the ephod was a collective responsibility. You may be wondering – how come? It was because of the personal pronoun “they.” In the Bible, it was used to indicate more than one individual. In other words, more than one artisan did the assignment reported in today’s referenced scripture. Although Bezalel did most of the jobs related to the project of the Tabernacle, however, the skills of the supporting crew became helpful at the right time. The loving thing is that these crews were available to carry out the task hence the reason the scripture used the personal pronoun to classify those that made it happen. Friends, God needs your skill; however, He might not use it right away but don’t dose off because when you least expect it might be the time He will call for it. Another message centers on what was engraved in the two onyx stores. These artisans carved the names of the twelve tribes. The lesson is that they didn’t replace these names with theirs or add their names to the twelve that the Lord commanded. Dear friends, these artisans were contented and believed they were covered through the twelve names. Do you believe that your name, family, and marriage are protected in Jesus’s name?
Prayer
My Father and my God, please help me always to put You at the center of attraction and not myself. In Jesus’s name, amen.
