Numbers 3:24 NLT
“The leader of the Gershonite clans was Eliasaph son of Lael.”

The leader
God knows the specific role that each of us will play in His vineyard, as well as the perfect timing for when we will step into that role. We need to recognize that since God has a specific role designated for us, He will orchestrate the circumstances to bring it to fruition at the appointed time.

Furthermore, we can draw valuable lessons from the story of the Gershonites. Despite having two prominent families, there was remarkable unity and no power struggle over leadership. When God chose Eliasaph, the son of Lael, to lead, there was a profound sense of acceptance among the people; no one grumbled, murmured, or questioned God’s decision. The scripture does not hone in on Eliasaph’s family background or lineage, suggesting that a leader isn’t for some but all.

Finally, it is essential to reflect on how we are living our lives. This is a crucial question because God does not engage with those whose actions and lifestyles fail to bring Him glory. Reflecting on our daily choices and behaviours is vital in ensuring that we align ourselves with His purpose and honour Him in every aspect of our lives.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your guidance in my leadership journey. Please grant me the wisdom and strength to lead in ways that honour and glorify You. Help me to inspire others through my actions and words, ensuring that everything I do reflects Your love and grace. May my decisions be rooted in integrity and compassion, encouraging those around me to grow in their faith and character. Amen. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
