Numbers 3:12 NLT
“Look, I have chosen the Levites from among the Israelites to serve as substitutes for all the firstborn sons of the people of Israel. The Levites belong to me,”

Who owns you?
In today’s referenced scripture, God makes it clear that the Levites, who play a vital role in assisting Aaron and his sons in their priestly duties, are not their personal property but belong solely to God. This divine declaration emphasizes that the service of the Levites is not to fulfill the desires or expectations of Aaron and his lineage, but instead to honour and please God above all else.

Such a profound truth challenges us to reflect on our own lives. When asked if we belong to God, many of us would wholeheartedly respond in the affirmative. Yet, it’s essential to consider whether our daily actions and choices truly reflect that commitment. Are we living in a way that genuinely honours God and aligns with His purpose for our lives, or are we merely conforming to the expectations of those around us? The call to belong to God is not only about acknowledgment but also about living out that ownership through our behaviours, values, and relationships.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for Your guidance in learning to cherish the profound gift of belonging to You. Please help me to recognize the significance of this relationship and the joy it brings to my life. Please strengthen my resolve to honour Your ownership of my life, avoiding actions and choices that do not reflect the glory of Your name. Grant me the wisdom and discernment to align my thoughts and deeds with Your will, so that I may be a true reflection of Your love and grace in the world. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
