Numbers 2:34 NLT
“So the people of Israel did everything as the Lord had commanded Moses. Each clan and family set up camp and marched under their banners exactly as the Lord had instructed them.”
‭‭
As the Lord had commanded
There was something remarkable about Moses; he was a man who had an unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity, unafraid to call a spade a spade. This quality made him a compelling leader, especially when he reported both the missteps and the extraordinary accomplishments of the people of Israel. In today’s referenced scripture, Moses emphatically acknowledged that the people of Israel carried out every task as the Lord had instructed him. As a leader, do not just harp on people’s mistakes but acknowledge them when they perform excellently.

It’s essential to highlight that while there were other leaders, such as Aaron and his sons, in the camp, none of the people’s actions were based on their directives. This leads us to reflect: in our journeys, are we content with one teacher, or do we see no wrong in seeking guidance from many teachers? Relying on diverse instructive voices can often lead us into confusion and uncertainty.

The people of Israel trusted Moses as their appointed leader, believing fully in the directives he provided. They recognized him not only as a mediator between themselves and God but also as a source of stability amidst uncertainty. In the same vein, we are reminded by the apostle Peter that Jesus is our example and we are called to follow Him diligently (1 Peter 2:21). Let us aspire to cultivate a focused and discerning spirit, one that seeks the clarity found in unwavering faith and guidance from the teachings of Christ, steering clear of the noise that can arise from too many varied influences.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before You in humble reverence, seeking the strength and wisdom to follow Your divine guidance as outlined in the scriptures and through the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit. Help me to discern Your will in every situation I face and empower me to act with integrity and love. May I always align my actions with Your teachings, reflecting Your light in the world. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
