Numbers 1:9 NLT
“Tribe of Zebulun – Eliab son of Helon”
Tribe of Zebulun
Did you know our perspectives can transform significantly with more profound and nuanced information? Yes, it can, but it can only happen when we draw closer to the Only Wise God. Drawing closer to God gives one more clarity and understanding about life’s complexities. Take, for example, the case of Helon’s parents; they chose a name for him that meant “strong,” a quality that, intriguingly, was not directly linked to the God of heaven and earth.
However, when it came time for Helon to name his son, he chose a distinctly different path. He called him Eliab, meaning “God is my father.” This name carries a more profound implication of identity and spiritual heritage. It prompts us to reflect on the fundamental question: Who is your father? The answer to this question holds immense significance; it shapes your values, aspirations, and ultimately, the source of your strength. Understanding this connection can profoundly influence how we navigate our lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am grateful that I call You my Father. Please help me live in accordance with Your attributes. I don’t want to be Yours only through name but always in deeds. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
