Leviticus 27:5 NLT
“A boy between the ages of five and twenty is valued at twenty shekels of silver; a girl of that age is valued at ten shekels of silver.”
Cherished members of God’s vineyard
In the pursuit of serving the Lord, age is no barrier—no one is too young to embark on this divine journey. The scripture referenced today illuminates the Lord’s intention, offering a thoughtful framework of scales of values for both boys and girls aged 5 to 20. This inclusion signifies that children are cherished members of God’s vineyard, invited to contribute to its flourishing. Therefore, those who choose to dedicate these young souls must recognize the gravity of this commitment; it is not to be taken lightly. The fact that the Lord has ascribed meaningful scales of values to them underscores the seriousness and significance of their purpose in His plan.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please guide me in leading all my children to You, and may neither I nor they have any reason to break our commitment to You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
