Leviticus 26:13 NLT
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high.”
‭‭
I am the Lord your God
In various films, we’ve encountered characters who, for one reason or another, suffer from memory loss and struggle to recall significant aspects of their lives. A standard narrative device in these stories is a close friend or family member who stays by their side, gently prompting them to remember their past and reconnect with their identity. This resonates deeply with the spiritual state of the Israelites as described in Scripture. The necessity for the Lord to continually remind His people of their history and identity highlights their spiritual amnesia and forgetfulness of His faithfulness.

Consider this: when the Israelites believed that Moses would not return from Mount Sinai, they succumbed to doubt and fear. In their desperation, they reverted to idol worship, constructing a golden calf and mistakenly attributing their liberation from Egypt to this false god rather than acknowledging the trustworthy source of their deliverance.

Friends, let this serve as a poignant reminder: no matter the challenges that life throws your way—whether it’s loss, disappointment, or confusion—the Lord is unwavering in His commitment to remind you of who He is in your life. Do not be misled; the Lord is indeed your God. The victories you experience, the promotions you receive, and the daily provisions that sustain you are all blessings bestowed by His grace. Let us remain vigilant and conscious of His presence, never forgetting the goodness and faithfulness of our God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am deeply grateful for the constant reminder that You are my Lord and God. In moments of uncertainty, please grant me the strength to stand firm in my faith and never waver in my belief in who You are in my life. Help me recognize Your guiding presence, unwavering love, and the countless blessings You give me daily. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
