Leviticus 26:9 NLT
“I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiplying your people. And I will fulfill my covenant with you.”

The Covenant-keeping God
Several years ago, I entered into a two-year contract with a well-known internet service provider, eager to enjoy uninterrupted service. As part of this agreement, I also enrolled in their auto bill payment option for convenience, ensuring that my monthly payments would be deducted automatically from my account. I believed our business relationship was simple and straightforward—sealed for two years without any unexpected changes.

However, after just 12 months, I reviewed my bill and was taken aback to see that my monthly charge had increased by $5 six months into the contract. Confused and frustrated, I contacted customer support to address this discrepancy. To my surprise, the representative informed me that the increase was not a mistake but a necessary adjustment. They explained that the company needed to revise their pricing structure due to rising operational costs. At that moment, I realized that the commitment I thought I had was not as solid as I believed; the terms of our agreement seemed negotiable when it suited their interests.

Reflecting on this experience today, I am reminded of the referenced scripture, which emphasizes that God is unwavering in His covenant commitments. Unlike my internet provider, who adjusted the terms of our agreement after the fact, God remains faithful to His promises. Even centuries after Abraham’s passing, when He established a covenant, God did not forget that commitment. He saw it through to fruition, demonstrating His faithfulness. Friends, we can take solace in knowing that God is not a man who lies or changes the rules; He is steadfast and committed to His word, reassuring us that His promises endure.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are ever faithful, and Your covenant is a testament to Your unwavering promises. I humbly ask for Your guidance as I strive to remain steadfast in my faith and trust in Your perfect timing for fulfilling Your covenant in my life. Help me to cultivate patience and perseverance, knowing that Your plans are for my ultimate good. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
