Leviticus 25:55 NLT
“For the people of Israel belong to me. They are my servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”
To whom do you belong?
Every action we take is driven by a purpose that is often uniquely personal to each individual. This characteristic, interestingly, is inherited from our Creator, God Almighty. Without ambiguity, the Lord said He brought Israel out of Egypt to be His servants. By designating them as such, the Lord affirms their identity as His own, indicating that their loyalty should reside solely with Him—free from the bonds of serving others, whether by choice or coercion.
Dear friends, reflect on this: to whom do you pledge your service? Additionally, scripture reassures us of a vital principle: God never forsakes His people, even when they are caught in the consequences of their choices. Even though their situation may be self-inflicted, the Lord does not abandon them. As long as you belong to Him, the Lord will do everything in His power to restore you. The question is: Are you His?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please help me always remember that I belong to You. Please guide my behaviour to reflect this truth at all times. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
