Leviticus 25:24 NLT
“With every purchase of land you must grant the seller the right to buy it back.”

The right to buy back
It is crucial to understand that God’s instructions encompass a broad range of moral and ethical guidelines, such as the commandment not to covet your neighbour’s belongings. This directive remains applicable regardless of the neighbour’s faith. The Lord’s teachings are not conditional or selective based on personal views; they are universal truths for all.

Additionally, some divine instructions are specific and should not be generalized. In today’s referenced scripture, the Lord emphasizes that the right of redemption for a piece of land must be an essential part of any land purchase agreement. This right is directly tied to that transaction and should not be expected in other dealings.

Another critical point to underscore is that there is no distinction between small and large land transactions regarding this condition. Every transaction, regardless of its size, must adhere to this divine requirement. Furthermore, the scripture clarifies that it is not the seller’s burden to plead or negotiate this right; instead, it is an inalienable right that the buyer must grant.

As a follower of the Way, it’s vital to understand your rights in God’s kingdom. If you are unaware of these rights, you may find yourself vulnerable to being deprived of them or, worse, manipulated into believing that others are doing you a favour when you experience them. Knowledge of your rights as a child of God equips you to stand firm against the shifting tides of man-made doctrines and worldly opinions. Stay grounded in the truth, and ensure you are not swayed by false teachings or misunderstandings about your divine inheritance.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask that You open my eyes to recognize every right I have been treating as a mere privilege, revealing the inherent value of these blessings in my life. I pray for the strength and clarity to understand that I deserve to access and enjoy the land and opportunities that rightfully belong to me, not just physically but also in terms of my spiritual and emotional well-being. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
