“But you might ask, ‘What will we eat during the seventh year, since we are not allowed to plant or harvest crops that year?’”
What is your question?
Everyone experiences a moment in life when they are faced with a question for which they seek an answer. But did you know that God is intimately aware of all those questions you hold in your heart? In today’s referenced scripture, we see a profound revelation where God anticipates a pressing inquiry from the people of Israel: what sustenance will they have in the seventh year when they are not permitted to plant or harvest crops?
This thoughtful scrutiny highlights that the question isn’t rooted in individual concerns but reflects a communal mindset. The use of “we” in place of “I” emphasizes the collective spirit of the Israelite community, suggesting that God knew they would look out for everyone. This invites us to reflect on our attitudes: Are you solely focused on your well-being, or are you also considering the welfare of others?
