Leviticus 25:16 NLT
“The more years until the next jubilee, the higher the price; the fewer years, the lower the price. After all, the person selling the land is actually selling you a certain number of harvests.”

Not the land
When God is involved in any endeavour, one can be assured that everything will be communicated transparently, leaving no room for ambiguity. In contrast to humans, who may withhold vital information or manipulate the truth to serve their interests, God lays everything out clearly and understandably for all parties involved. His guidance is unequivocal, ensuring that everyone comprehends their roles and responsibilities.

In today’s referenced scripture, the Lord provided specific guidance to the people of Israel concerning the buying and selling of land. First, the King of Glory established a framework for determining the price of land, highlighting that the cost would be directly tied to the proximity of the upcoming Year of Jubilee. The closer the Year of Jubilee—a time when debts were forgiven and the land was returned to its original owners—the lower the price of the land. Conversely, the further the timeline to the Year of Jubilee, the more expensive the land would be, reflecting its potential for productivity before it would revert.

More critically, the Lord made it clear that land transactions were not intended to convey permanent ownership but rather to facilitate certain harvests. This instruction was essential to prevent wealthy individuals from manipulating the process for their profit, ensuring that the divine plan was upheld and that the community remained harmonious and equitable.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me understand that adhering to Your instructions is in my best interest. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
