Leviticus 20:3 NLT
I myself will turn against them and cut them off from the community, because they have defiled my sanctuary and brought shame on my holy name by offering their children to Molech.

You are God’s sanctuary
As it is written that our bodies and lives are temples of God and need to be kept holy, the importance of keeping our temples clean is reflected in the verse above. By offering and bowing down to other gods, we defile the sanctuary of God. By giving in to the pressures of society and its norms, we bring shame to the holy name of God. By conforming to the norms of this present time and seeking validation elsewhere, we bring shame to the holy name of God.

The God that we serve is a jealous God. His desire for us as His children is that we heed his instructions to us as His children and not bow down to the pressures of the present times. We need to know and understand that which is the perfect will of God for us as individuals, and if we continue to do that which negates His instructions to us, we only push Him further away. We should strive to show forth the beauty of God by living exemplary lives with the Holy Spirit as our help.

Prayer
God, I need grace to maintain your acceptable standards. May I NEVER bring shame to your holy name in Jesus’s name, amen.
