Leviticus 19:13 NLT
“Do not defraud or rob your neighbor. “Do not make your hired workers wait until the next day to receive their pay.
Who is my neighbour?
On May 5, 2024, an unknown individual compromised my WhatsApp account. Shortly after the breach, the hacker accessed my contacts and sent requests for money, pretending to be me. This caused distress and confusion among my contacts, as it appeared that I was soliciting funds from them. This deceitful act reflects a lack of empathy and disregard for others’ well-being. From a moral standpoint, such behaviour goes against the principles outlined in the scripture. According to the referenced scripture, such actions are detestable in the eyes of God.
Friends, there is a clear-cut difference between physical and biblical neighbour. While the former pertains to those who live close to us, the latter encompasses all individuals, regardless of their geographic location. As followers of Christ, we are expected to use the latter in our dealings. It is y(our) responsibility to adhere to these teachings and refrain from engaging in any form of illegitimate financial gain or deceptive practices. If you need anything, talk to God, and you will be surprised that He always has your back. Using deception to enrich one’s pocket might seem easy, but the end is destruction.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray I will not illegally obtain money from anyone. Please help me know that there is dignity in labour, and I pray Thee to bless the works of my hands. So, help me, Lord Jesus. Amen.
