Leviticus 19:10 NLT
“It is the same with your grape crop—do not strip every last bunch of grapes from the vines, and do not pick up the grapes that fall to the ground. Leave them for the poor and the foreigners living among you. I am the Lord your God.”
God has your back
In the referenced scripture, the instruction from I AM WHO I AM emphasizes the importance of not stripping every last bunch of grapes from the vines and not picking up the grapes that fall to the ground. This directive goes beyond mere sanitation concerns; it reflects a deep compassion for the less fortunate, including those experiencing poverty and foreigners among them. It is a powerful reminder that God does not forget the needy and demonstrates His commitment to providing for those in need.
The fact that God provided these instructions without being petitioned by the people highlights His proactive care for them. God’s provision was not a response to a problem but a preemptive measure to ensure the well-being of those in need. This serves as a source of comfort for those who may be questioning where their daily provision will come from, as it reinforces the belief that help is available from God.
Additionally, the scripture serves as a gentle caution to those with plenty, reminding them not to overlook or disregard the needs of the less fortunate. By caring for the poor and foreigners, God sets an example for others to follow, encouraging those blessed with abundance to extend their help to those in need. Ultimately, the scripture underscores the transformative power of small acts of kindness, emphasizing that even the smallest gesture has the potential to impact the lives of others positively.
