Life through obedience
The importance of obedience is emphasized in various aspects of our lives. Whether it is following the laws set by the government for the functioning of society or adhering to the beliefs of Christianity, obedience plays a significant role. While obedience is crucial, it is essential to remember that true fulfillment and purpose in life cannot be solely derived from obeying anything.

According to the scriptures, obedience to the Lord comes with a unique reward. In the referenced passage, the Lord stated that by following the divine decrees and regulations, the people of Israel will find life. This implies that the people of Israel had an active role in finding this life. However, with the coming of the Lord, it is proclaimed that by embracing Him, the heavy burden of seeking life through mere regulations is removed, as He is the source of life, offering abundance to those who believe in Him.

Another insight for living is in the last sentence: I am the Lord. The Lord was not reminding Himself of anything by saying I am the Lord. Instead, the essence of the sentence is that the people of Israel will bear in mind that He means what He says and says what He means at all times.

Prayer
Dear God, it is only through you that anyone can find purpose. I pray that I will live my life to please you always. I pray this in Jesus’s name. Amen.
